Network Meetup at NTT DOCOMO

On July 28, we participated in the Cloud Native Telecom Meetup Japan 2026, hosted by NTT DOCOMO. During the event, Steven introduced Aitra, our new open-source project focused on AI infrastructure intelligence, and shared its vision and potential applications with the audience.

The presentation generated strong interest among attendees and provided an opportunity to introduce Aitra and our broader project portfolio to the cloud-native and telecommunications community. Steven also invited attendees to visit our booth at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Japan.

The meetup was followed by a networking reception, providing additional opportunities to engage with industry professionals and community members. During the KubeCon exhibition, several booth visitors mentioned that they had first learned about our organization and projects through the telecom meetup, demonstrating the value of participating in related community events alongside the main conference.

Exhibition

Over the two-day KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Japan exhibition, our booth attracted strong interest from attendees. We captured 60+ leads, with many visitors taking the time to learn more about Aitra and Contexture, discuss potential use cases, and provide feedback on the projects.

The booth engaged with representatives from a range of leading Japanese companies and organizations, including NTT, SoftBank, Toyota, Rakuten, Fujitsu, LY, Hitachi, JR West, Mercari, Itochu, and others.

These conversations provided valuable insights into industry needs and potential applications for open-source AI infrastructure and data management technologies. We will follow up with the leads collected during the event, provide updates on project development, and invite interested contacts to future project and community meetings.

Community Engagement and Follow-up

Throughout the week, we also reconnected with existing community members and partners in Japan. We held meetings with senior representatives responsible for AI infrastructure and data center initiatives at SoftBank and NTT DOCOMO.

The discussions focused on their requirements and challenges related to AI infrastructure utilization, as well as their plans for future expansion. We also introduced Aitra and discussed how the project could help address emerging AI infrastructure needs. Initial interest was received from both organizations, and follow-up discussions with their respective technical teams are currently being arranged.

The next step will be to provide more detailed information about Aitra, explore potential use cases and areas of collaboration, and encourage interested organizations to participate in the project and broader community.

We also met with key members of the Japan community for a dinner meeting to discuss community development and plans for the remainder of 2026. The discussion provided an opportunity to strengthen relationships with local community members and align on upcoming activities and engagement opportunities.

Overall, KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Japan 2026 was a productive and rewarding week. We received strong interest in Aitra, collected quality leads, and reconnected with key community members and industry partners in Japan. The conversations and feedback we gathered will help shape our next steps as we continue to develop the project and expand community engagement. We look forward to following up with new contacts and building on the momentum in the months ahead.
